A house for people who love books
Books stand for calm and slowing down — an attitude we want to make felt throughout the house. Our library is more than a shelf of books: it's a space for encounters, where guests, our team and sometimes visiting authors strike up conversation.
This runs through the whole house — from literary-themed rooms to readings in the winter half of the year to fellowships for writers.
The library
Encounters happen now and then in the library — small readings, good conversations over a glass of wine.
- In the reception area, our team presents a monthly book we particularly love — plus a steady stream of new arrivals to browse and borrow.
- Our honesty bar runs on trust, no fuss: cold drinks, Franconian wine and sparkling wine, organic beer, organic soft drinks and organic snacks — just note it down on the tally list with your room number, we'll take care of the rest.
- Every day between 2 and 7 pm, there's teatime with free organic tea for all guests.
- In the guest fridge, you can store food and medication you've brought along; lockable boxes are also available at reception.

Writing fellowships
Twice a year, we award a writing fellowship: free time and space to write, quietly located on the Main with a large chestnut garden.
Authors' weekend
Once a year, several authors spend a whole weekend with us — with readings, exchange and time for new ideas.
The Literature Club
As a small thank-you to all our guests, we offer the Literature Club — our loyalty programme with discounts on stays, drinks and readings. Free, non-binding, signed up directly by email.
